Re: In Memory of Ernie Robart

From my Facebook page....

I was in Albuquerque Friday and today attending the funeral service for my old friend Ernie Robart. Was pleased that his wife, Lourdes chose one of my photos of Ernie to be on the service program. Friday night a number of his friends and Lourdes took the Rail Runner commuter train to Santa Fe for a memorial dinner at Tomasita’s Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant was until 1941 the Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge depot of the Chili Line from Antonito, Colorado. I last saw Ernie at Tomasita’s in October. Ernie photographed the D&RGW narrow gauge extensively in the 60s and was instrumental in part of it being saved as The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR.

Will miss you old friend, we had some marvelous times photographing the trains we loved.
