As for 475, I have visited Strasburg only once in 1994, and was happy 475 was operational. My dad rode behind it out of Roanoke in 1957 on an excursion to Blacksburg, VA. I remember seeing it in the roundhouse when we did an excursion on the N&W in 1959. 475 had that fake stack at the time and was along side Class J 4-8-4 611, and a few other engines in the Roanoke Roundhouse. Our trip was with class A 2-6-6-4 #1240 Roanoke to Bluefield where Y6b Compound 2-8-8-2 2190 took over for a triangle trip. A couple months later 611 handled the final excursion(Oct 24th 1959) with steam on the N&W during the steam era.
