Hmmm . . . . Otis is closely associated with elevators and escalators, but not so much with forklifts.
However, "Clark" has a long history with forklifts.
Wikipedia has some forklift history here, which mentions Clark: [
en.wikipedia.org]
But the more interesting Clark forklift history page is here: [
www.clarkmhc.com]
1924 First shipment of a Duat with an optional tiering attachment. This modified Duat became the world's first internal combustion fork lift truck.
Since "
Duat" does not exactly roll off the tongue, how about "Clark"?
There are a surprising amount of railroad related photos in the early years of that Clark history page linked above, including this one of a "powered platform truck:
1922 The Truclift, an internal combustion-powered platform lift truck, is introduced. The Truclift was the world's first internal combustion lift truck that used hydraulics, not mechanical gears and linkage, to lift a load.
Note the logo on that 'truck'!
