I wasn't at the photo special, but can probably answer your question as no one else has yet. The water tank is the one we are using at McEwen. It was originally from the Oregon Lbr. Co. at Bates. We have the square building and base of another similar one from the OLCo logging mainline. Ore. Lbr. Co. had mostly the same ownership as SVRy. OLC had many miles of NG logging mainline along with uncountable temp. spurs to log areas adjacent to the SVRy. Tanks along the SVRy typically had octagonal buildings around much larger tanks than this one, though some of the early tanks seem to have been smaller round ones. The hose wrapped around the sand dome is prototypical for the SVRy engines. It was connected to one of the injector lines between the injector and the boiler check as a pressurized source of water for fire suppresssion. While not standard equipment on the engine today, it adds a nice touch of authenticity. Great Photos!!
