Thanks for the remarks; I have to plead guilty. As you know I am a professional museum curator/historian and I love the feel of a big thick railroad book in my hands.
I have Birth of California Narrow Gauge on order; at 700+ pages it makes my mouth water.
On the other hand one really neat video is by the Colorado Railroad Museum showing the fire up and operation of their 346, long may she steam!
I hope you have a standard gauge best seller so you can make that trip up to Sumpter!
