If you wanted a painting of earlier days, Leadville would be my choice as well. Prior to 1917, the D&RGW Ibex branch was narrow gauge, the yards dual gauge. The Ibex branch crossed the C&S just east of the C&S roundhouse and their track was also dual gauge at that point. If you go back to 1899, there were four rotary snow plows in town on the same day. That doesn't really show the difference in size, but sure made for an interesting day.
