I'll second and third your motion, Roger -
The Fred Harman Museum covers much more than just Fred Harman's art — there's a LOT of western history there. Fred Harman was not only an excellent artist, IMHO comparable in many ways to C.M. Russell and Frederic Remington, he was also the author and illustrator of one of my favorite comic-books of the 1950's – Red Ryder – whose adventures with his sidekick Little Beaver were set in the "wild west" of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
Plan to spend at least half a day at the Harman Museum, and then head across Highway 160 on the west side of Pagosa Springs to Pagosa Brewing Company, where you can enjoy any of several beers that have won state and national awards while sitting in the Biergarten under the pines & aspen and munching on some of the best food west of Grinder's Switch, Iowa.
