Hecla Junction was in Browns Canon, 9.41 rail miles up from Salida on the Arkansas Valley line to Leadville, jnc of the 7 mile long Calumet Branch to the iron mines there and was originally known as the Iron Mine Branch. Grades were 7% for 5.62 miles then easing to 6% for the last 1.5. Built in 1881, washed out in 1901, pulled up in 1923.
