Yvonne just posted this on her Facebook page. I misunderstood her instant messages, I thought it happened yesterday.

Things could always be worse but what started as a great day went bad around 8:30 this morning. On the first photo run by on the 2nd day of Photographers Trains I stepped wrong on some rocks and my foot got wedged as I fell. As X-rays later showed, I broke my ankle in 3 places. Luckily there was one other photographer Bryan Burton with me at this location at the very bottom of the hill and he went for help. Train crew and volunteer staff came down and were all wonderful. After a bit of assessment they practically carried me up the steep terrain to the tracks. A motor car piloted by John came and transported me back to Rockwood where there is access to a road. My son picked me up and got me to the ER.
I’d like to thank all the crew and staff Jon Walden Cox Russell Heerdt Kyle Danielson, Luke Prince Eric Pahlke Bruce E Rodman Bill Dunst for their labors getting me back to the tracks. (I hope I didn’t miss anyone!)
I will see an orthopedic doctor tomorrow or Tuesday and have surgery to put plates in after the swelling goes down by the end of the week.
