Interesting question from out of the blue.

Lunkenheimer is the name of a manufacturer of valves used for stationary steam and other purposes The particular brand dates back to 1862 in Cincinnati. The official licensee of Lunkenheimer valves is CVC Valves. CVC reports that it is using the Lunkenheimer foundry.

Included in the current product line are single-note steam and air whistles and valves.

It is reported elsewhere that the Lunkenheirmer family (by then the fourth generation) left the company in the 1960s and a buy-out of the stockholders occurred in 1968. Ownership changed again in 1984.

Cincinnati Valve Company (CVC) "was founded in 1994 solely to become the licensee of Lunkenheimer Valves. As such, Cincinnati Valve Company operates the Cincinnati Lunkenheimer Plant . . ."
