Hi, youse guys -
On my way to chase the very last freights over Cumbres WAAAAY back in 1968 I drove from Denver to Alamosa, arriving after midnight when no lodging was available (I couldn't afford a motel in those days anyway). IIRC, it was quite foggy the next morning, as the storm had passed and the rising sun was evaporating the many puddles of rainwater. The fog had only partly burned off by the time I arrived at the engine yard — see the first photo on my post at [

A similar situation occurred in 2009 – but in mid-September, not late August and Antonito, not Alamosa – when a very heavy rain the night before provided some spectacular early-morning fog and low clouds for the #315 charter on 09/13/09. See [
