B12: What if...

So, it's my understanding that the narrowest EMD traction motors would accommodate meter gauge. GE on the other hand made traction motors that would squeeze down to 36".

What if you swapped the EMD axles and traction motors out for GE axles with the narrower motors to get down to 36" gauge.

If that didn't work, perhaps you could take a cue from the manufacturers and swap out the whole trucks - EMD for GE. This happened more than once at both builders where trade-in trucks from the other manufacturer were used under new-build locomotives as a cost reduction measure.

It would be neat to see a B12 painted in a Grande-esque livery.
