Folks,
The story of those two S.D. Warren 0-4-0s is an interesting one. They were built by Baldwin in 1895 for the S.D. Warren Paper Company. In 1923 they got two replacement boilers
from Baldwin. Their builder's plates #10187 & 10188 are for the replacements.
In the 1950s, they were sold to the Robert Deitch's Kiddie Zoo at Fairlawn, NJ. They converted them to gasoline engine operation. The boilers were just a shell with no innards.
They were static displays at Boothbay Railway Village for many years. The #1 was out in back with the covered cars and the #2 was in front with the sign. Now the #2 has a new rivetted saddle tank and mostly rivetted boiler. She should be in operation soon.
The most recent pictures I have seen are the ones on the BoothBay Railway Village Facebook pages.
