From the bits and pieces I can find it sounds like there was initially a problem north of Cascade and they were going to run Cascade turns, and then a problem near Shalona developed and they had to completely close down. I also saw a picture of that said it was passengers walking down the right of way to get from the stranded train mentioned in the first post to buses. From the pix it looks pretty messy with a lot of water scouring the ballast and sub grade for long distances, wonder how long it will take to make it safe for passenger trains.
