I find it amazing that this debate has gone on for at least 48 years, maybe longer but I first became involved in 1972. So much has been written about the subject of paint, when so much D&RGW and RGS history has gone unpublished. I have 350 pages of research on the D&RGW Orient branch and I would wager that few if any know even a tiny portion of that history. I find the whole discussion to be silly and boring. If the C&TS or D&S wants to paint engines with green boilers, who am I to stop them. But I do not have to write or photograph about it,.
