Am having dinner tonight in Durango with two of the Billings Flight Services CH47 Chinook chopper pilots. He said the Forest Service released them and they will be leaving Durango tomorrow or Friday. They had already flown out two of the CH47s. Another company flying Hueys will be kept to assist the hot shot team working the fire in the wilderness burn area.
Was a real kick to spend time with these guys, they have balls for sure. Was a trip back in time for me to my USAF days.
