Re: Any progress on RGS-20 restoration

CRRM is about to mount a final fund drive to complete the locomotive. In the meantime, we have been getting things in order for the final push to try and get the locomotive back to Golden by the end of the year. Jeff Taylor and his gang are working on the tender in Golden. Our hope is to have little more to do than hook the two together and chuff away. All it takes is money, and a ton of work.

The boiler is finished, tested, and ready to mount on the frame. We will be keeping it off the frame for the time being as we finish fastening the smokebox and complete running, valve, and brake gear work, which is much more easily accomplished without the boiler. We are beginning a "ramp-up" of work the week after Memorial Day and hope to stay on it full time until it is done, provided adequate funding is available.

I hope to have a fairly steady stream of pictures coming over the next several months.
