Push cars are some handy. The wooden ones are easy to move on and off the track if needed. We often pile tools and small things like joint bars and track bolts on ours as you did. (It's neat that you used it in passenger service too) We also have steel frame, steel top push cars that are good for moving rail when new track is being built. We often put 6 sticks of rail on the car as it's fairly easy to move the car and man handle the rail. As you know, the cars travel well over rough or safety spiked rail.
