Yep that's it. We ran a chase train the second day. We had done that in 1991, and swore I wouldn't do that again. You can't combine a real "gotta get this done" event with a railfan event. The chase train was the reason we only got to Los Pinos the second day. But, that is what GBart wanted. We put the chase train into the Rotary train the third day, and other thing I didn't like. The big rock was west of Long Creek. At that point is was game over for the Rotary. The next day we ran a work train up there to blast the rock. They were supposed to go to Osier to knock out what remaining snow there was, check the Osier Loop. But they got lazy and came home telling me "we didn't need to go to Osier, there is no snow down there. Its all clear". Of course as Greg and JBWX (and others) know that was not the case.
Just the beginnings of the Year of GB that brought down my last year in Chama......
