But he's no more a curmudgeon than John West is 'El Curmudgeon del Norte'. I've been privileged to know him as a friend & collaborator since we were chasing the Royal Hudson when she visited Southern California way back in April, 1977. Along with John, he very generously allowed Roger Hogan and me to use several of his superb photos when we were putting together the "Help Save #483" screen saver in 2005, and the Nevada Northern and the Virginia & Truckee have had to put up with all three of us at once - plus Gordon Glattenberg - in 2004 and 2012, respectively.
