Switch leads to the new location of the 35 foot by 150 foot pavilion-style train shed that is currently located at our original location next to the fairgrounds and currently houses our rolling stock. New foundation is ready, about 80 feet of display track inside the new shed location is in place, and phase one of moving the train shed should start next week: removing the west third of the structure to enable us to get a crane and flatbed trucks in to move RGS coach 252, D&RG Business Car C (neither of which have trucks yet) and the original Depot coal and outhouse outbuilding to the new location. Phase two of the move - disassembly of the train shed and reconstruction at the new site, followed by moving the rest of the rolling stock - will happen later this spring and summer. In the meantime, we continue to lay out and spike rail two days a week. We have installed a grade crossing (visible in the video) at a new entrance to the property from Charles Street, and laid out a parking area. Much more to come during work week in June.
