Cumbres history

August 24, 2003 10:21PM
Is the history of the various activities at Cumbres documented anywhere? Jessica's post indicates there was lumbering activity there (was it a mill or just a log loading operation). And I seem to recall in later years a store and gas station. The "carman's house" suggests DRGW had a carman there...what did he do, inspect and repair brakes before cars went down the hill? And the Cumbres station seems to have been a fairly busy operation. Would be interesting to know more about all of that.
