West Side Shay #8 spent a few years stored at Banks, Oregon on the old Vernonia South Park & Sunset Steam RR before going to the Loop. She was owned by Malarkey Wall, who also owned Pickering Shay #8. He intended to put her in operation on his property near Glenwood but she was deemed too heavy for his track there. She was later sold to the Loop.
