Very nice job Michael. I have two of these Sunset locos and have been wondering what would need to be done to have them operate anywhere near to my Blackstone K-27's. Had even considered selling them and reinvesting in Blackstone versions. Both engines had a frustrating habit of losing the main rod crank screw whenever it would spin out in reverse. The screw would spin out and drop itself and the rod onto the ballast. Finally, a tiny amount of Lock-Tite solved that issue. Your description of making yours a quality running (and looking, BTW) model is much appreciated and worth consideration.
