I think my brain likes to short-circuit and remember oddball stuff, especially threads in which I have posted a response or two. In this particular case, I saw part of
'The Iron Mule' at an 'Old Spaghetti House' restaurant in Portland while traveling with the American Freedom Train back in 1975, and never forgot the hilarious scene where the engineer takes the stack off the engine and runs it over the top of the hill while the train goes through the tunnel — so of course I remembered finally finding out the movie's name – and a link to the movie itself – forty years later in the discussion referred to above. Other times it's just a matter of remembering some non-numeric clue to search on, like the odd name of a town or a railroad.
Or maybe it's just that I've never clogged up the old gray matter with Marmite, Vegemite, or similar sticky toxins – just good dark beer
