Per page 36 of 'Rio Grande Narrow Gauge — The Final Years, Alamosa to Chama' by Hereford & Robart, " . . . the final livestock shipments handled by the narrow gauge were in the fall of 1966."  Whether these loads originated at Lobato, in Chama, or farther west is not indicated.
