Gang,
On page 15 of my tattered Slim Gauge Cars book by Carstens Pubs, there is a photo of what appears to be a DRGW fishbelly flat converted for utility / MOW use with an unusual, built-in ramp one end used for loading wheeled / tracked vehicles. I have no idea what the date of the photo might be. I'd have to guess the coupler was "removable" on the ramp end, otherwise the car could only be used at the rear of a train facing backwards.
Does anyone know the rest of the story on this car? Was it a DRGW 42' fishbelly or just another similar SG car used for conversion? Year built? Still in use? Pix or drawings? Especially detailed pix!
Thought it would make a nice model, and I could eventually make a more modern work train like some seen in pix recently posted recently by John West.
Thanx, Gary
