Hi Trainman
I converted a Fujyama K-36 to DCC and painted and put DCC in a Westside C-16(See photo below). Both have a Soundtraxx Tsunami 2. Great sound and with some programming both run very smoothly. Converting an engine is not very difficult. Just be carefull to insulate all the wires and speaker contections otherwhise you will shorten out the decoder and ruin it. Don't ask why I know that.
The C-16 handles very well around tight curves. It does not have a lot of tractive effort compared to the Blackstone C-19s. The K-36 needs
at least a 20 inch radius and even then I had to do some major work to the frame so the driver axels would have more play sideways. Right now I am working on a Fujyama K-37. The bigger mikes can run very nicely but need some work. It can be done but if you're not super into it I would wait for the Blackstone to release their 36 and 28s.
