A view of ng. operations in Germany *LINK*

I posted this link once before. It provides some interesting views of the Hartz Mountain Narrow Gauge on top of Brocken Mountain. Unfortunately there must be some construction going on since the camera currently is shrouded by scaffolding. Brocken is in the former East Germany, and used to be a Soviet spy station...kind of a neat spot for those of us who grew up during the Cold War. Nothing like spy stations served by steam powered narrow gauge trains. Now it just hauls tourists behind 2-10-2 tank engines, occasionally a 0-4-4-0, and there is at least one 2-6-2 and an 0-6-0 running around. The HSB is an interesting railroad and well worth visiting.
