Back in mid-October of 1976 I made a round trip from Whitehorse to Skagway and return. The US Immigration Inspector was in the Skagway depot; but, I recall seeing him beside the train when we stopped at the yard. At the station the US man was at a podium and was making a tally in a Success Desk Calendar [I wonder what he did when he got to the tour group from Australia!].
The regular train back to Whitehorse had one of the combine-cabooses with the wicker parlor chairs. After we pulled into the Whitehorse station the Canadian immigration man came through the car before we could get off. As he worked his way down the car, from one side to the other, he skipped over me.
