Steve: I just found this bit of info. From a roster of RGS locomotives, it looks like it is RGS # 1:

P.S. From page 119 of Vol XII of the RGS Story:
No. 1 (the first) D&RG No 242 "Barranca" Built by Baldwin in 1881, purchased by the RGS on October 14, 1890 for $ 4.750, Out of service in 1903, scrapped in 1904!
Beware, apparently there was a second # 1. Baldwin 1880 (#5200). Originally owned by BC&F then CFC. Numbered 35 but never saw service on the RGS as that number. Too much info to post but if you have Vol XII looked at page 122 for the storied history of "#35". Including tha fact that it spent time at a place where you toiled in your youth - Burnham Shops!
