Hi Philip,

I'm curious as to how original Kennebec Central rail survived the scrap drives of WWII. Once the Maine 2-Footers were defunct, I can't imagine much use for rail that light, and there certainly were rather significant efforts to recover steel for use in the war efforts. Heck, the original rails from the Transcontinental Railroad at Promontory Summit were torn up and melted down during the war. Did someone have the stuff squirreled away in a barn someplace?
