There was a Jimmy Blouch post in years gone by in which Alamosa engineer Walter Kearin ran a passenger extra on the Valley Line to Salida. This was most unusual because of the Valley Line being protected by Salida-based engineers. The engine was the 478.
The special went up to Salida one day and returned the next.
