Ross, the first speaker is Dr. Vandenbusche, and I am the Narrator. This film is 55 min. long and later in the film there are many interviews and photos of the four towns, Iola, Kezar, Cebolla, and Sapinero, that are under Blue Mesa. One interview talks about how the Government came in 20 years before, announcing the plan for a dam. The bank would no longer give these folks any loans for upkeep because of the "Dam Plan", and no land sales happened. So when the assessors came in to purchase the land, no land sales had happened for 20 years, (maybe one at Cebolla) so, they offered bottom rate prices. One sheep rancher from Sapinero took the Government to court, but the Jury came from the city where the trial was held, with no idea of rural property values, and was awarded even less than what the Government gave the other ranchers.
