Re: Needleton Tank

We will be going back in to Needleton next Tuesday and will resheath the roof, replacing bad and rotten rafters. It will have a temporary covering of regular asphalt roll roofing for this winter, so no one get excited about that. Regular sawn shingles will go back on next spring.
We are in need of information for the ball ornament that was on top of the tank, and rumor has it that the owner of Tall Timbers has the original. We also found out about an original ornament that is in Montrose, so I'll track that lead down. It was apparently made out of sheet metal and capped the center post that runs from the tank bottom up through the top deck and forms the junction point for the roof rafters. It is our desire to replicate that and put it back on the tank.
