Thanks Guys. We have now seen the D&RGW cross on gondola, box and stock cars. We've now identified at least six versions of so called "cross pattee" designs, none of which fit the exact design found on the WESTERN cars and the RGW tool found by Doug Jolley. The information and additional photos are all appreciated. I think I will have to simply call the version on the cars a "D&RGW Cross". Also note that the cars have "Western" added to Denver & Rio Grande (or D&RG) lettering and that on the stock cars, the white board carries the car number. It also appears that the cross was used as early as 1881-2, long before standard gauging of the Utah lines.
