Oscar Caldwell let the extra board handle the standard gauge passenger train for a while. Jim Stephens started as a fireman on10-12-11 and was promoted to engineer on 10-13-1918. He was one of the engineers on the San Juan when it was hit by an avalanche in 1948. Dan Holly was the other engineer. August S. Johnson picked up the shovel on 10-14-1906 and was promoted to the right side of the engine on 01-05-1910.
