My understanding is that in the 1920's, at the time the 464 was being rebuilt with piston valves and super heat, 454's boiler was ready to go and 464's mechanism was ready to go so the Grande swapped boilers.
Knotts Berry Farm removed the super heaters. When it came to the Huckleberry RR the super heater header came with it but the super heater elements had been scrapped. The tube sheets had also been modified to accommodate standard flues. Converting it back to super heat would be expensive and with an 8 mile round trip it's doubtful that much super heat would be developed anyway. I believe the Huckleberry has the pops set at 190 psi instead of the original 200 psi.
