We are the contractors on the Needleton tank restoration. We have a crew going down today from Silverton (7/30) for 3 days of work which will include several new suport timbers, repair of roof rafters, new roof sheathing, and a temporary roll roofing application for the winter. New wood shingles will be applied next year. Last week the tank was straightened and the tank bands are being restored to their original positions. The plan is to do a cosmetic restoration of the tank as its present condition, without a liner, precludes putting water back into it though the supply line is still very much active to the cold box. We utilized a work train last week to bring in timbers and supplies; otherwise we are using regular passenger trains for supplies and crew movements. This project is funded in part by the Colorado Historical Fund and by the D&SNG. I haven't gotten far enough into this list to see if I can post photos, but we are taking both film pictures and digitals. We have also been contracted to do reconstruction work on the RGS Rico water tank (we are presently doing the stone and brick restoration on the Rico Town Hall), and the RGS Trout Lake trestle (52A) is about to be put out to bid by the US Forest Service for restoration. I'd be happy to keep you all informed as we make progress. Our company also did the restoration work on the Sawpit tram structure on the RGS a couple of years ago (that is on property owned by the US Bureau of Land Management). We work out of Silverton and you may recall some of my photos from various Sundance calendars and books.
