They were all taken as the engine went back and forth carrying passengers, and later on its own as members of the restoration crew took turns running it. Nothing posed. And yes, oil burner, moving slowly on old yard trackage, firemen trying to be careful to keep a clean stack. Not a 'more smoke!' event
Being not an arranged photo freight and with the general public around, and with all the clutter at the Laws museum, it was challenging to get shots, so you had to take 'em where and when you could. Fortunately the steam air pump that is plumbed to an external pipe-away just behind the stack provided a little steam at nearly all times. I really like that sound - the unique sound of one-lunger steam pumps on oil burners, not drafted up the stack so as to avoid messing up the fire, as opposed to coal burners who can use the extra draft.
