We would have the same challenge getting the No. 60 out of Idaho Springs as the 9 or the 71: owners permission and the ability to get it operational. The restoration could cost most than $1 million and may require to being send to a shop such as the Strasburg Railroad. All this would have to be determined by experts in steam locomotive restoration.
Then comes the question ``what will the people who donate the million expect to receive as a return on their investment?'' The 168 will be operated more than once. The 60 would also need to have a second career beyond an excursion.
The coach looks decent but I would have to defer to an expert as to whether it can be restored.
A C&S replica train could be operated at the CRRM using the 346, which has some C&S history behind it.
