and I believe that is what replaced it. The renovation is under the strict guidelines of Oregon Historic Preservation. One of these days the state will paint the old structure, and open access to the upper floors, then the visitor can really see how the operation went. And thanks Mike for the link, very interesting. Actually i believe that state recorded some of the sounds of one of the dredges in Alaska to get a flavor for what this one sounded like. NOISY according to all who had to listen to the continuous squeeling, clanking and banging.
