To make sure everyone is clear, there are no profits with the recent Friends sponsored RGS charter.
Every penny that folks paid for tickets go directly back into the C&T. There is no profit but still a huge deficit in finding needed to bring more equipment back to operation. This fund raising charter might be close to 60k gross but we still need millions of dollars.
Part of the money goes to railroad operations, some goes to 168 and some goes to Friends to buy more wood, metal, paint, etc.
Only personal gain for anyone was the opportunity to take photos or video of the charter for buying a ticket. That's more than reasonable.
The alternative is we could run a bake sale or similar to raise restoration funds. We'd have to sell a lot of cookies to come up with this amount of funds!
