A few quibbles (Re: Coaches ...)

1) RG Motorways was organized in '27, well before the (5th)recievership.
2) Pass. cars went to Mexico in April of '42, not in '41.
3) Several other coaches (or ex-coaches) & pass cars were disposed of 1935-52, including (but not limited to - off the top of my head) 0275, 305, Parlor (ex Buffet-sleeper) Ouray, combine 211, 4 more cars in late '42(281,282,289,316), 311, 272 (burned in '47 or '48), Silver Vista (ex 0313, burned, not restored), and 280 (to Boulder). Not to mention various cars of the RGS and the SN, and some more ex-coaches in work service gone in the early 50's.
4) In the 1980's D&S put some work service cars (I remember these as rotting away at Rockwood and other sidings in the 1970's) back into passenger service(for ex. 0271), bought & restored some others (RGS 257, 311), and built a few new ones, numbered in the 600 series, IIRC.
IF there had been there had been somebody to push the idea (and to give $$$) in the 1970's, CATS could/might have gotten several more cars to go in some version of what is now being planned as the historic train (IE RGS 257, 311 & some of the work service cars) but I don't think they could have found enough to carry the regular traffic.
The world will never know.

PS OTOH, If someone had been crazy enough to start putting together a tourist line in the mid to late 1930's, they could have gotten tons o' cars. all of the above plus the last 15 coaches of the C&S (1939).
