I was sleeping at Sublette Heights once and at 4am in the morning, a locomotive whistled for the station. Gerald Blea had left Chama running 489 sometime after midnight and here is a photo passing the station at Contention, just a couple miles out of Antonito..
So it's not unheard of to move a locomotive across the line in the middle of the night so that the Antonito train can leave in the morning on time.
