Yesterday was another busy day in Como. Colorado State boiler inspector came and gave No. 4 a passing grade on her steam test, Como-Jefferson Fire Department brought more water, work on the turntable guide wheels was finished and, best of all, No. 4 made several trips up and down the current extent of the old main line to Buena Vista.
"Klondike Kate" poses for some admirers at the old Highway * grade crossing by the Como depot.
Another view of Klondike Mines No. 4 at the depot.
Along with everything else, our father & son track crew managed to close the gap to the turntable. We ran out of the nice pine or fir ties that have been used so far and had to resort to buying some oak ties. Lord are they heavy and hard to drag around!
