The Maine two foot lines use 3/4 size couplers. The following pictures were taken while replacing the end sill and draft gear beams on WW&FRy flat car 118 this spring. Flat 118 is an original Portland Company flatcar that was rebuilt by the original WW&F. The museum restored the flat car to the railroad rebuilt configuration in the early 1990's. The original automatic couplers on the WW&FRy had slotted knuckles to couple with link and pin couplers. All the original WW&F couplers on the rolling stock had bottom pull pins.
118's coupler out of the car you can see the slot in the knuckle to accept the link and pin.
Coupler going back into the car.
