Russo, they were used as mainline cabooses in the 1920's, 1930's. and up to about 1951. From then on they were relegated to local trains (still ran on the main line) work trains and yard transfers. They did not have toilets or drinking water. By 1956 there were only a few of them left and by the mid 1960's they were all scrapped except one which was given to 6 flags over Texas in Arlington. It set that until it actually rotted and fell apart. One day a front loader picked up the pieces into a large container and it went away.
