Having bummed a few rides on Class 1s with big hills, if the helper is behind the caboose you want him shoving the slack in tight because
if he lets up the reaction in the caboose can be pretty severe. On both railroads I'm referencing the helper would be in Run 8 with the road
power controlling the speed via their throttle setting.
