Hi Ed,
The Western Railway Preservation Society is still alive and well; even if our website is not. One of our director's daughter is working on a new one but its taking a very long time. However, she is doing it for free in her spare time so we can't really pressure her to hurry up.
The West Side Lumber #3 is completed from the deck down and we have not had a chance to work on it too much this summer as we are working on setting up a new "Satellite Shop" in Brooks, Oregon just south of Portland. The idea is to do winter restoration projects at the Satellite shop and then move them back over to the Sumpter Valley Railway when completed. An idea we stole from the Friends of the C&TS with their shop over in Colorado Springs.
They also hold summer time "steam ups" in Brooks in the summer so we are going to use the opportunity to promote the Sumpter Valley Railway to the 10,000+ attendees and let them know about the SVRR over on the mountains in Eastern Oregon.
Anyways, we will be getting back to working on the West Side Caboose this fall. Hopefully we will even have a functioning website by then as well
